Quantum Lock wins Vol Court

Every semester, the Anderson Center at the University of Tennessee launches a 6 week lecture series which ends in a 90 second pitch competition. Any undergraduate or graduate student can enter an pitch their idea to a panel of judges. The judge include individuals in the entrepreneurship community of Knoxville.


In the Fall of 2018, Erica gave a pitch for Quantum Lock and received $1,500 in funding which is being utilized for the second-generation prototype.


“Many people are upgrading to smart locks because they offer the convenience of unlocking the door with a smartphone app and the illusion of high-tech security. Unfortunately, smart locks can be less secure than traditional locks. Quantum Lock focuses on security by utilizing untraceable information encoded in light.”
